Everything the same, yet nothing the same. The long held dreams of decent, respectful Early Childhood Development Infrastructure for the children of this community edging closer to becoming a reality as the first truck is soon followed by the second and third.
Bright Kid Foundation containers are converted off-site and delivered to the recipient schools. Unlike with brick buildings, building plans of containers are not examined and approved by municipalities. In order to comply with the requirements of all functional regulations of part A of the National Building Regulations, issued in terms of the National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act, 1977 (Act No.103 of 1977), the following are considered:
adhering to the prescriptive deemed-to-satisfy requirements provided in the relevant parts of SANS 10400.
appointing a competent person to undertake a rational design or rational assessment in terms of a relevant part of SANS 10400.
adhering to the requirements of an Agrément certificate; or appointing a competent person to reliably demonstrate, or predict with certainty, to the satisfaction of the appropriate local authority, that an adopted building solution has an equivalent or superior performance to a solution that complies with the requirements of the relevant parts of SANS 10400 (Regulation AZ4).
The above confirm that Agrément certificate is one of the options to comply with the National Building
Regulations.
