Edutainer® Comments

We recently visited one of our most successful Edutainers®, at Delft in the Cape townships which is a prime example of what happens when the whole process works properly. A very dedicated girl, operating from a tiny site (the container barely squeezes in).... It feeds on being an evident success, parents want their children to go there and pay the fees."

Philani Early Childhood Development Centre adds Adult Basic Education and Training classes after hours

Both Edutainers® in Philani are now used for Adult Basic Education and Training (ABET) after hours. The Philani Early Childhood development Centre (ECDC) was funded primarily by Watch Hill Foundation and the Zoë Carss Education Trust. Additional funds were donated by UPS and Absa Private Capital. The photos show the same classroom being used as a preschool during the week, and for ABET on weekends. Three volunteer university graduate teachers teach up to 40 students in mathematics, science and english on Saturdays, to help them pass matric examinations.

These Edutainers® have added adult furniture to allow for ABET courses.
